How to properly wash hair after oiling
Hair oil treatment not only promotes hair growth but also moisturizes your hair and adds shine and luster. It gives deep nourishment, penetrating your hair follicles while also healing your scalp from various bacteria and infections by acting as a strong barrier. With all those benefits, wouldn't you just love a hot oil massage after a long tiring day? But with oiling comes the struggle of rinsing. Here is how you can properly wash your hair after oiling.
Rinse with hot water first:
Rinsing with hot water first will open your hair cuticles, which is the outermost layer that protects the inside of the shaft from damage, so that shampoo may also penetrate and rinse out the oil from there.
Choosing the right shampoo:
You will see shampoos promising to hydrate, strengthen, smoothen, protect colour, thicken or promote hair growth. But which one to choose? It all depends on the type of your scalp. For oily roots, you will need a deeper cleansing shampoo that is not your regular moisturizing one.
Combining shampoo with water:
Mix your shampoo with some water and rinse with some solution. Why? This will match the level of concentration of oil and your shampoo and to avoid getting any side effects from chemical mixture.
Focus more on scalp
Since the roots are the oiliest, your scalp needs the most attention. Concentrate more on the scalp to rinse out the oil and don't rub your strands harshly. Avoid using nails on your scalp no matter how strong the urge is, as it can attract infections. Massage gently with your fingers and palm.
Follow up with the conditioner:
After rinsing out the oil from your hair, your hair strands might feel very dry. Use a good conditioner but avoid applying conditioner on your scalp as it may become oilier.
