How to wash hair according to hair type
Ever wonder if you wash your hair properly? The real reason your hair looks and feels like heaven after a trip to the salon is that salon experts understand how to wash your hair the right way — and that's why we came up with a few tips to take your shampoo game to the next level.
For flat or fine hair
If you have flat hair, use a gentle clarifying shampoo. Straight and flat hair tends to get more oily than other types of hair because the natural oil for your hair travels faster down your hair. Don’t apply shampoo directly onto your scalp. First, gather lather in your hands and then apply on your scalp.
For greasy hair
If you have greasy hair with a huge amount of oil and particle buildup, wash daily to remove the excess oil and particles. The most fruitful way to wash greasy hair is to rotate your fingers to move the scalp to activate the follicle and bring oxygen to the roots. Rinse your hair thoroughly as any particle left will immediately start the buildup process and the grease will be back in no time.
For curly hair
Curly hair goddesses don’t have to worry much about washing their hair as curly hair requires heavy oils to stay on the scalp. You only need to wash your hair once a week with sulfate- free shampoo.
For thick hair
Thick hair tends to get drier than other hair types. Use an extra hydrating shampoo for your thick mane as they need more moisture. Squeeze a small amount of shampoo on your scalp, roots and then deeply condition to hydrate your dry hair.
After-wash care:
Avoid rubbing your hair with rough materials, including some cotton towels, for they can cause friction and hair fall. Instead, gently squeeze or pat your hair with a soft towel or a cotton tee shirt, and let it air dry to avoid hair fall.
